ORTU SOLIS, Latin for “Rising Sun,” represents our team’s goal to continue pushing forward as a club. The rocket is 12 feet in length and weighs 80 lbs on the pad. It was intended to participate in the 10k COTS division at the Spaceport America Cup, but the event was canceled due to COVID-19.
After the Spaceport America Cup was canceled, it was difficult to finish last year’s project, but it meant a lot to the team to complete despite the circumstances. The rocket was launched in North Branch, MN after the team pushed through all the obstacles. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make our 2020 launch happen.
