Helios is Rocketry’s 30K feet test vehicle, to verify the team’s ability to launch to high altitudes, which the team had struggled with in previous years. However, success at this scale does not come easy, and the team was able learn from our prior experience, and design a new test vehicle, Helios. Helios was flown at the Argonia Cup, and successfully recovered without any damage. The on-board altimeters were able to measure a maximum altitude of 25,000 feet, which is the current club’s altitude record.
The team is extremely proud of this enormous accomplishment, and cant wait to see what the club is able to do in future years!
