  • |6:17| Discussion regarding what meeting times work for members.
      • This current time of 6:00pm on Wednesday works normally
      • Unable to place half hours on the survey, had resulted in inaccurate perceptions on what times people are free.
      • Fisher is unable to determine a specific time officially due to the ‘Combat Robotics’ club that also has a time to determine.
      • This short discussion has resulted in: Tuesdays at 5:00pm are seemingly the best time for the club to meet.
  • |6:25| A potential group member has walked into the room! Due to the topic of discussion, and their lack of introduction this is simply a footnote.
  • |6:25| The closet has been cleaned by Jesse and Seth over the summer!
      • Every main thing in the closet has been filed and placed on a spreadsheet, which you can find on teams.
      • Keyers (beep beep beep) were placed in the cardboard box under the AC in case you were looking for them
      • Once a station is used, please wipe it down with Clorox wipes.
  • |6:27| Kees brought up the topic of the ‘Tower’ Project that has been brought up last semester.
      • There is no new news that Jesse has heard from the ‘team’ that was supposed to contact/update on this project.
      • They (‘They’ being Eric Ohrt and ISU FP&M) are aware of the plans that our team had originally thought out
      • Mentioned that Matt had previously said that CARC. should set up an account that we can put money into and allows these individuals to pull the money out.
      • Mentions on how Blueprints of the ‘pad’ was needed to make sure the roof was structurally sound enough to support the extra weight.
  • |6:31| We talked amongst eachother of ‘who’ we should contact and ask for more information.
  • |6:32| Matt has officially showed up to the meeting!!
      • After a brief explanation on what the topic of discussion was, Matt had recommended to follow up and get a price.
  • |6:32| Kees had an idea of making a ‘test bed’
      • Previous research Kees has done was able to estimate the cost to being around $200, for the test bed.
  • |6:36| A review of what the ‘tower’ project consisted of.
      • non-pen > 3-4 concrete blocks (Cinder blocks)
      • Check Zaffarano project notes for amount of ballast weight used
      • rubber mat so metal isn’t right on the roof
  • |6:37| Jesse wants to know who to email
      • After a small amount of discussion, Eric Ohrt was determined to be the best to contact.
  • |6:38| Matt had a meeting previously, he also mentioned that a certain group was given money to contact the ISS.
  • |6:42| In regards to the project, we have everything except the non-pen and the coax.
  • |6:43| Jesse used the keyboard to make an ‘Eek’ sound
      • Everyone laughed and therefore had made it a key part to this meeting.
  • |6:44| Matt sad mentioned that he could make meetings on Tuesday at 5:30 pm, especially more as the year goes on.

      • was supposed to be deployed earlier
      • projected deployment seems to be the end of November
  • |6:48| This Saturday (August 31, 2024) there is a ‘Parks on the air’ at ledges state park. W0YL (Story County Club)
  • |6:50| Seeing that Fisher has signed CARC up for club fest, there are a few things he will have to do:
      • Make a display, whether that is a slide show presentation or poster boards
      • Additionally, Fisher has set up a sign-in sheet to ensure that there is always someone to manage the stuff.
      • Emphasize the fact that we a CARC and not to be confused with other clubs or organizations.
  • |6:54|An idea circulated where we could contact entry level classes
      • Start small classes or collect people interested, such as those in HABET or CySat.
  • |6:55| Story county president will be able to interact more with our club.

  • |7:00| Should there be a net? Wednesday’s at 7 was the previous time for the net.
      • What’s the goal? What of you want to talk about during this net?
      • It doesn’t have to be something as simple as talking, could potentially take a form of a type of club meeting.
      • Can be something simple such as knowing if your radio works.
  • |7:05| There could be alternate ideas such as a game that’s played. Potential weather net, ‘packet radio’
      • track ARPS
  • |7:06| Jesse has a crossband repeater for a potential payload.
