Cyclone Energy is Chicago-bound!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Green Energy Challenge team last spring, Cyclone Energy is bound for the NECA National Convention– and this year they are going for the gold!

The Iowa State team earned second place in the written proposal competition. Now, before the semester gets rolling, work begins on the oral presentation. With the first day of classes on the 25th of August, and the next part of the competition on the 27th of September, it will be a race against time to prepare an oral presentation worthy of first place!

Joe Hahn and Maggie Holt met the day after ELECTRInternational and NECA announced the winners, to begin preparations.

On top of the oral presentation, Cyclone Energy will also participate in the poster competition. This year the guidelines are more involved. Instead of creating a poster that stands alone for judges to read and evaluate, students are encouraged to stand by their poster to answer questions and engage the judges. It will add yet another dynamic element to the competition.

The Cyclone Energy team could not be happier to be bound for Chicago and the national convention. It will be a lot of work, and a challenging month. But as these students have shown for the past 3 years, they are up for a challenge!
