PhD Research Panel Event

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at Iowa State University (ISU) hosted its very first PhD Research Showcase panel event. This innovative initiative was designed to bridge the gap between PhD and undergraduate students by offering a glimpse into the world of groundbreaking research happening within the department at ISU. The event aimed not only to shed light on the cutting-edge projects undertaken by PhD students but also to inspire attendees to embark on their own academic journeys.

The showcase event was met with enthusiasm from both presenters and attendees. PhD students had the unique opportunity to present their research, sharing their passion and expertise with a captivated audience. Undergraduate and fellow graduate students were keen to learn about the fascinating projects unfolding within the department. The audience was not passive but instead actively engaged in the experience, asking an array of insightful and meaningful questions.

The event’s success was evident in the way it fostered meaningful interactions between students of different academic levels. It created a platform for students to delve into the fascinating world of aerospace research, fostering a sense of curiosity and ambition. The PhD panelists’ willingness to share their knowledge and experiences, coupled with the attendees’ thirst for knowledge, made this event a resounding success. AIAA at ISU’s inaugural PhD Research Showcase not only shed light on cutting-edge research but also lit a spark of inspiration for all who attended. We hope to hold similar events in the future.
