About Baja<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Every year, the Baja team designs, manufactures, builds, tests, and races a new all-terrain car against over 150 universities from around the world. The Baja team is highly decorated and competes at 4 competitions throughout the year. All Baja cars are limited to the same unmodified 14hp Kohler engine (that is restricted down to 10hp) and many safety rules. Beyond that, the Baja team has freedom to customize and optimize the Baja car to be competitive at competitions. A lot of time is put into design and manufacturing as well as real scenario testing before competitions. New members are welcome to join the team at any point in the year. With time dedication and willingness to learn, anyone can help with the Baja car!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAE Baja sanctioned competitions are composed of various different static and dynamic events. The static event score is based on our design, sales presentation, and cost report. The dynamic event score is based on acceleration, suspension and traction, maneuverability, hill climb, and a four hour endurance race.
