They are responsible for all lofts, internal structure, interface to the electronics and payload module, and mechanical systems on the aircraft. Mechanical systems include the system for rotating the wing of the aircraft and all control surface movement. They along with the electrical team are responsible for the aircraft platform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Director<\/span><br \/>\nRyan Story&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<a href=\"mailto:rstory@iastate.edu\">rstory@iastate.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Electronics Team<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Electronics Team is responsible for selecting the ideal image processing software, and obtaining images during flights. We collaborate with the manufacturing team to obtain photographs, and share our results with the appropriate committees. We are integrating the systems required in obtaining and processing images, by managing the hardware and software necessary to obtain data which is useful for Agricultural production. In addition, we occasionally attend events with the purpose of helping children become excited about engineering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Director<\/span><br \/>\nAlex Nielsen\u00a0&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<a href=\"anielsen@iastate.edu\">anielsen@iastate.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Payload &amp; Mission Team<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Team is responsible for developing and building a module for the multi-mission capabilities. This semester the scope of their work is to design a module to be used for any mission, design one for aerial imaging, and finally build the aerial imaging module. This team will also research and plan other possible missions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Director<\/span><br \/>\nAlex Scott&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..<a href=\"alscott@iastate.edu\">alscott@iastate.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrow Completion Team<\/strong><br \/>\nThe team is responsible for preparing Arrow for solar flight. This includes two major parts, redesigning and replacing the tail that was damaged during flight testing and installing solar panels. The tail will be reconfigured to allow for greater structural strength which is required after the damage that it sustained Spring 2017. The team is also responsible for assembling, wiring, and installing the solar panels onto the aircraft.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Director<\/span><br \/>\nLyle Sorensen&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<a href=\"lylsrnsn@iastate.edu\">lylsrnsn@iastate.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Outreach Committee<\/strong><br \/>\nThe outreach committee is AirPad&#8217;s way of giving back to the community.\u00a0 This committee visits young students to showcase our work and to promote interest in science and engineering. An additional purpose of this committee is to\u00a0promote the understanding of AirPad and agricultural surveillance with the general public, this includes the understanding of all components of the UAV and the program itself.
